After a life time of commercial artwork as a designer, illustrator and photographer,in 2000 I had the opportunity to rediscover my painting.Wanting to find my own style and loosen up my approach. Realising abstract expressionism was not working for me, it took a while to figure the subject matter had to be from things observed. Originally from Canal Boats & Barges in East London and Amsterdam, from my own photographs.Now any urban scene is used as inspiration, though the source is never clear from the finished work.
